What is baptism?

Baptism is an important next step in your decision to follow Jesus. It’s an outward declaration of an inward change. Going under the water symbolizes the death and burial of your old sinful self; coming out of the water represents your resurrection as a brand new creation.

“Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives”
[Romans 6:4 NLT]

Are you ready to take the next step and get water baptized?

OUR NEXT BAPTISM IS SUNDAY JULY 7, 2024

WHY BAPTISM?

Jesus was baptized (Matthew 3:13-17).

The Bible tells us that every believer is to be baptized in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

Baptism is a symbolic act to publicly profess your salvation (1 Peter 3:21).

At Rust City Church, we practice full-immersion baptism, symbolizing the process of death and resurrection that Jesus went through for us (Romans 6:3-4).

When we go under the water, it symbolizes the death and burial of our sinful selves. When we come out of the water, it symbolizes our resurrection as a new creation in Christ (Galatians 3:27; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
