Day 11: 21 days of prayer and fasting

DAY 11: Your Scars are Safe Here

Scripture: "Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!'" – John 20:27

The Raw Truth: The resurrected Jesus kept His scars. They were not wounds of defeat, but trophies of love and proof of identity. He invited Thomas to touch them—the most raw, vulnerable parts of His story. Your scars—the wounds from your past, the pain you try to hide—are safe with God. You don't have to pretend they don't exist. In fact, when brought into His light, they become the very places through which His resurrection power is most clearly displayed. Your healed trauma can become someone else's testimony. Your brokenness can become a portal for His beauty.

Illustration: Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer. The vessel isn't hidden or discarded. It's painstakingly reassembled, its cracks filled with precious gold, making it more beautiful and valuable than before it was broken. God is the master Kintsugi artist. Your scars are where His gold shines brightest.

Challenge: Identify one emotional or spiritual "scar" you usually hide or feel shame about. In prayer, imagine yourself showing that scar to Jesus. Then, imagine Him not looking away in disgust, but touching it with His own scarred hands. Hear Him say, "This is part of your story. With Me, it becomes part of your glory." Write a one-sentence prayer of surrender for that scar.
