Day 5: Unwrapping the Power

Jesus Our Mission

Scripture:

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8 (NLT)

Devotional:
Every gift we’ve unwrapped this week — the Promise, the Salvation, the Presence, and the Gift — points to one final truth: the gift was never meant to stay wrapped.

The story of Jesus doesn’t stop at the manger or even the cross. It continues through you. When the Holy Spirit came, He empowered believers to take the gift of Jesus and unwrap it for the world. The power of God is not given so we can simply feel inspired — it’s given so we can live on mission.

The same Spirit that hovered over creation, spoke through prophets, filled the temple, and raised Christ from the dead now fills you with purpose. You are the wrapping God uses to reveal Jesus to others. Every act of love, every word of truth, every moment of courage becomes another layer of the gift opened for someone who’s never seen Him clearly before.

So don’t leave the story half-open. You’ve received the gift — now unwrap it with your life.

Think About:

  • How am I revealing Jesus to the people around me?

  • Have I let fear, comfort, or doubt keep me from sharing what He’s given me?

Pray:
Holy Spirit, thank You for entrusting me with this incredible gift — Jesus Himself. Help me live unwrapped, bold, and open so the world can see Your love through me. Empower me to carry Your story everywhere I go.

💡 Live It Out — “Be the Gift”
Do something today that unwraps Jesus to someone else. It could be a simple act of generosity, a bold word of encouragement, or a conversation about faith. You might be the only glimpse of Jesus someone gets today — make it count.
