Day 14: 21 days of prayer and fasting

DAY 14: Midpoint Check: Not What You Expected

Scripture: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord." – Isaiah 55:8

The Raw Truth: You're halfway. This fast has probably not gone exactly as you planned. Maybe you expected dramatic breakthroughs and instead got subtle nudges. Maybe you wanted to "achieve" a spiritual high and instead have felt weak and ordinary. Good. God is dismantling your expectations to give you an encounter with His reality. His ways are higher. He often works in the quiet, the small, the slow growth. The fruit of this fast may not be a sudden miracle, but a deepened resilience. Not a shouted answer, but a quiet assurance. Don't judge the journey by your preconceived script. Surrender to His better story.

Illustration: You plant a seed expecting a sunflower. You water it, care for it. What sprouts is an oak sapling. Disappointed, you might be tempted to pull it up. But an oak offers deep roots, lasting strength, and far greater shade. God is growing an oak in you, even if you prayed for a sunflower.

Challenge: Take stock. Write down 1) What you expected to feel/experience by now. 2) What you are actually feeling/experiencing. 3) One small, unexpected way you've sensed God's presence that wasn't on your original list. Thank Him for working outside your box.." – Isaiah 55:8
