Day 16: 21 days of prayer and fasting
DAY 16: What Are You Carrying?
Scripture: "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." – Galatians 6:2
The Raw Truth: Now that you're being filled, pay attention to what God is placing in your heart. Is it a burden for a specific person? A holy discontent with an injustice? A renewed love for your difficult neighbor? The "fast God chooses" (Isaiah 58) always moves inward to outward—from personal holiness to compassionate action. You are being strengthened not for your own spiritual comfort, but to shoulder the weights others are buckling under. Who has God put in your circle that is carrying a load too heavy alone? Your fast has sensitized you to the needs He cares about most.
Illustration: You've been training in a gym, getting stronger. The purpose isn't to just admire your muscles in the mirror. It's so you can help a friend move a heavy couch, lift your child high in the air, or do hard, necessary work. Your spiritual strengthening has a communal purpose.
Challenge: Ask God: "Who needs me to carry a burden with them today?" Listen for a name or face. Reach out to that person with a simple text, call, or act of practical help. Don't say, "Let me know if you need anything." Say, "I was thinking of you and want to help. Can I [bring a meal, watch your kids, mow your lawn] this week?"
