DAY 6 – BARTHOLOMEW (NATHANAEL): AUTHENTIC BEFORE GOD

DAY 6 – BARTHOLOMEW (NATHANAEL): AUTHENTIC BEFORE GOD

Scripture: “Here is a genuine son of Israel—a man of complete integrity.” – John 1:47 (NLT)

Devotional:

Nathanael’s first recorded words weren’t polished—they were skeptical. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?”

He wasn’t fake. He was honest.

And instead of rebuking him, Jesus affirmed him.

God isn’t intimidated by your honesty. He’s invited by it.

Jesus saw him under the fig tree before he ever saw Jesus. That means revelation precedes recognition. God knows you before you know Him fully.

Integrity doesn’t mean perfection. It means wholeness. No masks. No performance. Just truth.

If you want real encounter, bring your real self.

Takeaway: Authenticity attracts revelation.

Think About:

• Where am I tempted to present a polished version of myself?

• What honest question do I need to bring to God?

Pray: Lord, remove pretense from my heart. Help me walk in integrity before You.

Dig Deeper:

John 1:43–51 (NLT)

Psalm 139:1–6 (NLT)

Proverbs 10:9 (NLT)

💡 Live It Out — “Drop the Mask”

Pray honestly today—no filters, no rehearsed language.

Group Discussion:

• Why is authenticity hard in church culture?

• How can our group create safe space for honesty?

Comment: 🌿 if you’re choosing integrity.
